Legal Playground is a social networking website that allows members of the legal community to connect with clients and prospective clients using the latest internet and social media marketing tools and applications.

2 - What are the membership benefits of joining the Legal Playground?

When members join Legal Playground, they can create a professional profile for free that publishes their business resumes and work contact information. They can also engage in web-blogging, share online videos and documents, and have clients and prospective clients follow them on a dedicated mobile app. For a premium membership, members can also access an online bulletin board were they can learn of and obtain new business opportunities. Using the latest technological advances, members of the Site can secure new clients, network with colleagues, and develop cutting edge Internet marketing solutions.

3 - How do I join?

To become a member of Legal Playground, click on this link and then the follow the instructions. After you submit the form, you will be sent a welcome email with instructions on how to activate your account.

4 - How much does membership cost?

We have 2 levels of membership- a free basic membership and a premium membership which costs $19.99 a month.

5 - What are the benefits of having a premium membership?

For a premium membership, members can access the online bulletin board where they can learn of and obtain new business opportunities. This can be done either directly from their computer or remotely with their mobile phone. More specifically, in the online bulletin board, members can view posts from individuals seeking legal counsel and from attorneys offering referrals or searching for local or co-counsel.

6 - How do I upgrade to a premium membership?

If you are already a Legal Playground member and would like to upgrade your membership, please login and select "Membership." Then select “Become a Premium Member.” You will be taken through the process to upgrade your membership. Your pre-existing profile and activity information will be saved.

7 - Can I cancel a premium membership at any time?

Yes. You can downgrade your premium membership at any time. Your profile, blogs, photos, videos, audio, and messages will remain as is. Similarly, you can re-activate your premium membership at any time by simply upgrading your membership.

8 - How can I cancel my premium membership?

To cancel or downgrade your premium membership, log in and select “Membership” from the top ¬of your screen. Then, select “Become a Basic Member.” Your pre-existing profile and activity information will be saved.

9 - How do I edit my profile?

On the top of your profile page, click on the “My Profile” header
There you will be given a number of account options, including the ability to edit your profile
Click on the “Edit Profile” option
On this page you can edit your Profile
When you are done editing, click on “Save”

10 - My email address has changed. How do I update this on Legal Playground?

First, you will need to sign in to your account
Once signed in, you will be directed to your Profile page
On the top of the page, click on the “My Profile” header
There you will be given a number of account options, including the ability to edit your details
Click on the “Edit Details” option
On this page you can edit your email address
When you are done editing, click on “Save”

There you will be given a number of account options, including the ability to control your privacy contact details

You can then configure who is able to view your information by checking/unchecking the boxes
When you are done, click on “Save”

13 - What happens if I choose to hide my profile?

Depending on the privacy setting you choose, members, search engines and/or visitors will not be able to view your profile, weblogs, articles, pictures, videos, podcasts, and audio.

14 - How do I upload videos to my profile?

On the top of your profile page, click on the “My Profile” header
There you will be given a number of account options, including the ability to upload items
Click on the “Videos” option
You can then upload videos
You also have the ability to link your videos to sites such as YouTube, Yahoo Video, Flickr, Vimeo and others

15 - How do I upload audio to my profile?

On the top of your profile page, click on the “My Profile” header
There you will be given a number of account options, including the ability to upload items
Click on the “Audio” option
You can then upload audio

16 - How do I upload documents to my profile?

On the top of your profile page, click on the “My Profile” header
There you will be given a number of account options, including the ability to upload items
Click on the “Documents” option
You can then upload documents by clicking on “Submit File”

You can then upload photos by creating albums

On the top of your profile page, click on the “My Profile” header

You can then view, write and/or respond to messages

You can update your status by typing in the “Share your thoughts here” status box towards the top of your profile page when logged in.

20 - How can I blog on Legal Playground?

By blogging on Legal Playground (and subject to your privacy settings), your blog content will be visible to the public and search engines, maximizing its viewing exposure.

To blog on Legal Playground:
Go to the top of your profile page, click on the “My Profile” header
Click on “Blog Dashboard”
Type your blog Title
Type out your blog entry
If you desire, add images, videos and tags to your blog entry
Click “Save”    

Remember that blogs are usually short pieces. If you have a long document or article, you should consider instead uploading it in the “Documents” section of your profile.

21 - How can I edit or delete a blog entry on Legal Playground?

Go to the top of your profile page, click on the “My Profile” header
There you will be given a number of account options, including the ability to blog
Click on the “Blog Dashboard” option
Here you can view, create, edit, and delete your blog articles

22 - How do I delete contacts?


On the top of your profile page, click on the “My Profile” header
There you will be given a number of account options, including the ability to view your contacts
Click on the “My Contacts” option
Click on “Show All” and it will list your contacts
To the right of each contact is a red X that will allow you to delete that contact

23 - How do I invite contacts to join Legal Playground?

Legal Playground offers an invite function so you can invite friends, colleagues, clients and other contacts to join you on Legal Playground.
To send invitations, go to the top of your profile page and click on the “My Profile” header
Then select “Contacts” from the dropdown box
On the contacts page, select “invite contacts” and fill out their email address
An invitation to join Legal Playground will be sent to them

24 - What is the Legal Playground mobile app?

The Legal Playground iPhone application can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and installed on your iPhone or iPod Touch. It syncs via Wi-Fi or cellular network and downloads the latest Legal Playground member activity directly to your device. For premium members, the app allows you to view the latest activity from the online Bulletin Board directly from your mobile phone. It has been designed to take advantage of the advanced capabilities and rich user interface of the iPhone. Mobile applications for the Blackberry and Android are in the development process.

25 - What features does the Legal Playground mobile application have?

In addition to showing clients that they are in sync with the latest technologies, the mobile app allows members to update their status activities at all times. Whether in court, at a meeting, or while traveling, members can post breaking news directly from their mobile phone. If they are a premium member, they can also access the online Bulletin Board and view the latest posts, increasing their chances of obtaining new business. For non-members, the app allows them to search for members, view their profiles, and follow their activity.

26 - Does it cost anything to use the Legal Playground application?

The Legal Playground iPhone application is free to download and use. Please note that in the absence of a Wi-Fi connection, the app uses your iPhone's cellular network connection to access and download content. Please check with your carrier to see if you will be charged for usage, especially while traveling.

You can download the app by clicking on the mobile app icons throughout the Site. Alternatively, the Legal Playground iPhone app can be found by browsing the App Store on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

You can direct clients, potential clients, colleagues and friends to visit your Legal Playground profile page and then click on the mobile app icon on the bottom left hand corner. Alternatively, the Legal Playground iPhone application can be found by browsing the App Store on their iPhone or iPod Touch.
